Expectations and Other Moving Pieces, Ch. 25-30

This story is proof that sometimes there are no magic words. There are no grand gestures. That sometimes, not even time heals. When two people have hurt each other so much. When a whole relationship was built on indifference which led to emotional abuse, that is a long road to come back from.

I think they are making small strides. I think they need to decide if they can get along as acquaintances, which I think is the level where they are. Then they can try friendship. Finally, maybe they will work their way back to the lovers they never really were.
