I love that you have presented Bella so far as a total train wreck when with Edward. I don't think I have seen one who is so out of her element and completely self-embarrassing upon first contact(s). That this awkward interaction has been going on for a while is a nice. I'm glad you aren't doing a I-just-met-you-and-now-we-are-going-to-go-at-it-like-teenagers. They have some history, though awkward. Enough to know each others nuances.
Nice to know Edward's intentions, honorable and ::gulp:: dishonorable. Carrying on.
