When I first started reading this, I was immediately swept back to China Beach! God I miss that show. SO, I was so excited to read through this. I loved this Bella. Strong, hard drinker, quick mind and her own woman. I am sure it was no piece of cake for a woman in the 60s/70s to get her medical degree.
